I’ve been sick, too busy, stressed and tired. This combination wrecks my skin. I’ve tried a lot of skin products over the years, but my skin is so sensitive it will only take Clinique on my face. As long as I keep at it, my skin can be really pretty.
I especially love the “All About Eyes” roller thing. It feels good in the morning when my eyes are tired from little sleep and does visibly reduce puffiness. I find that I actually have to regularly use the cream to combat my dark circles. (I’m not naturally blessed with good skin) The Anti-Gravity stuff has been great for my chin skin, which hasn’t been looking so great as I’ve lost weight. I’m happy to say that with regular use it does make a real difference.
I really love the Sparkle Skin body exfoliator. The thing about it is that you really have to make sure to moisturize after, otherwise it will dry skin out. It does have a bit of menthol in it, so it’s nice for those sleepy mornings… I have a lot of those because I have a really hard time sleeping.
That’s a story for another time.
Have a good day!
I would kill for some silver bangles today.
I have never had trouble finding a bag I wanted until this season. I’m not entirely sure what’s up with that. I’m not suffering in the shoe department, I’m having to hold myself back. Same with jewelry, scarves, hats, etc. I’m kind of a accessory addict. But I could NOT find a new bag for school that I felt was worth the money. I ended up with the Lizette bag from Fossil.
Apparently, at some point it came in a beautiful mustard color, which I think is a nice neutral. At any rate, it was on sale, I had a coupon, and therefore don’t feel cheated. Macy’s is having a sale on bags right now. Things are pretty reasonable over there for those that are bag-obsessed and on a budget… Which I am after all the money I’ve been hemorrhaging.
The short story on moving is: it’s an incredible chore and it broke my back (almost literally). But we’re here now and though there’s quite a way to go ‘til it’s all put away and whatnot, time is marching on.
Since I’m injured, and giving a crapload of money to other folks wasn’t enough for me, I’ve been consoling myself with some retail therapy. I bought these babies last night, and they’ll be here tomorrow:

I am a boot lover, there’s no doubt. But it’s been years since I had a pair of Docs, and something just came over me. Maybe it was too many viewings of Empire Records lately, or whatever, but I needed some Docs to wear with dresses this year… I’m blaming this on turning 28. I fear I’m attempting to revisit my youth. Can’t wait to get’em on.
Don’t let the man get you down, Warren.
Filed under wearing these boots will only transform me into Liv in my mind
Flys happened. I woke up to an amazing infestation last week and have spent all the time since taking care of the issue. Just yesterday I was able to finally clean my kitchen and cook in it. Such a relief.
What is not a relief is how I’ve been getting very little sleep, drinking very little water, running very little and absolutely wrecking my skin. I’ve been off my routine and I’m paying for it now. I woke up yesterday morning looking like I’ve been on a bender for four days. Usually, I take great care of my skin because of it’s tendency to get out of control fugly, fast.
Ok, so I’ve never had terrible, terrible acne. But I’ve always had it. In high school I learned to cover up the four or five pimples I was carrying around with me like a pro. As I entered my twenties I kept waiting for that fabled moment when I would “grow out of it.” Never happened. So here I am at 28, still getting those same zits. I’m (usually) better at handling it now, though it was a bit of trial getting here.
First, and foremost: I stopped using cheap foundation, moisturizer, etc. I had to learn that I have sensitive skin and that if I want it to be better I’ll have to spend more. Right now I use Clinique’s clarifying makeup, though they discontinued it. I think this is their replacement item.
I also use their whole acne system. I used to use Proactiv, which worked great for a while, but when I turned 25 my skin got too dry for it. I tried Clinique and the great thing about it for me is that the “clarifying lotion” really has moisturizer in it without clogging pores. I’m really happy with how it works, I just have to keep up on it.
The other thing I’ve started being better about is at-home facials. I feel like this can be dangerous, but I’ve found a couple of products I really like. I like to use this Philosophy treatment three times a week in the shower. Additionally, I use this this Aveda masque once a week. When I keep up on this I can usually keep my skin in great condition.
